My name is Emma Schouten, I'm a 27 year old Dutch photographer.

My work is all about personality and the power of self-expression. I combine fashion, portrait and documentary photography to create images that are raw, honest and layered. It’s not just the appearance that counts, but also the story behind it. I am fascinated by how style becomes a way to push boundaries, to claim your place and to show who you are. I look for the beauty in what seems unusual at first glance and give it space to speak.
